Yahoo recently announced the acquisition of Konfabulator. Then they announced that Konfabulator is free.
FREE.
If you haven’t a clue about what a widget is or what Konfabing your desktop might do, head on over and check it out. There’s lots of nifty things to stick on your desktop - from the useful calendars/weather checkers to the odd: a simpson quote machine or the LiteBrite toy. Since it’s all free now, you owe it to yourselves to go and check it out. Personal favorite to do list.
Interesting to find out what rival DesktopX will do now - that product is basically the exact same thing and costs anywhere from $15 to $70.
