Yay for shiny new graphics. The new graphic, provided by danguyf, shows the current stats (ultimately the final stats). EDIT: Looks like something to his server, so I found a similar widget that does the same thing, but it’s based on MY server. Hopefully this one won’t disappear. I’m still going to provide nondynamic stats in each update so as to keep a record. Without further ado, here they are:
Word Count: 4,186
Chapters: 3
Glasses of Sweet Tea Quaffed: 7 and 1/3
Glasses of Icy Water Quaffed: 2/3
Of course, the neat little graphic notes that I am 10,000 words or so behind. Bwahahaa. The neat little graphic will eat that statistic.
So what’s it’s like, blowing off everything you’d already written and starting completely over?
Well. It’s nuts. But it’s also quite liberating. I am no longer researching out the wazoo in an effort to build a realistic fantasy world. For instance, I did not look up weather patterns earlier today when I wrote about the storm.
Oh, yes. I am a rebel.
In any case, I’m realizing that any novel I write may end up being of Robert Jordanian proportions… it’s taken me 4,000 words to pass a few hours. On the bright side, I probably won’t be running out of material anytime soon.
No, really… you scrapped everything?
Well, not everything. I’m continuing in the same general vein, but I scrapped every little bit that I had already written. I like the plot, so it’s staying, but I’m completely reworking the characters and their dynamics. Don’t tell anyone, but only one of my major character names has any significance…
So, what happens?
Eh. RAFO.
